Mount Thor or Thor Peak, at 1,250 m (4,101 ft), with an average angle of 105 degrees, is the world’s greatest purely vertical drop. It is a mountain located in Auyuittug National Park on Baffin Island in Canada. Despite its remoteness, the location is frequented by mountain climbers.
Khumbu Glacier – Highest Glacier
Khumbu Glacier, at an altitude of 7,600 m to 8,000 m, on the southwest slopes of Mount Everest in Nepal is the world's highest glacier. The glacier is located in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal.
Ganges Delta – Largest Delta
The Ganges Delta is the world’s largest delta with an area of 105,000 km2. The delta is one of the most fertile regions in the world that is why it is nicknamed the ‘Green Delta’. The delta stretches from the Hoghly River up to Meghna River. It is also known as the Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta, Sunderban Delta or the Bengal Delta.

Ushuaia City in Argentina is the southernmost city in the world. It’s the capital of the Tierra del Fuego and is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of the island of Tierra del Fuego with a population of about 64,000 people and an area of 9,390 km2. Mount Pinatubo’s eruption in 1991 is considered the world’s largest explosion in recent history with 10 cubic kilometers of magma and pyroclastic materials. This volcano is located on the island of Luzon in the Philippines at the intersection of the borders of Zambales, Tarlac and Pampanga. Mount Pinatubo is thought to be inactive for more than 600 years.
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta – Highest Coastal Range
The highest coastal range in the world with an altitude of over 5,700 meters above sea level is Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta or Snowy Mountain Range of Saint Martha. It is an isolated mountain range apart from the Andes chain and runs through Colombia. The Sierra Nevada encompasses about 17,000 km² and serves as the source of 36 rivers.
Sudarbans – Largest Mangrove Forest
The world’s largest mangrove forest is Sundarbans. It is the world’s largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by India and Bangladesh. The forest covers 10,000 km2 of which about 6,000 km2 are in Bangladesh.
Cox’s Bazar – Longest Beach
Stretching 125 kilometers long, the Cox’s Bazar is considered as the world’s longest beach. The beach is known for its wide sandy beach which, believed to be the world's longest natural sandy sea and is an unbroken 125 km sandy sea beach with a gentle slope. Cox's Bazar is slowly becoming one of the most visited tourist destinations in Bangladesh and eventually become a world class tourist destination.
Amazon Rainforest – Largest Rainforest
With an area of about 5,500,000 km2, Amazon Rainforest in South America is the world’s largest Rainforest. Amazon rainforest represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforest. It is also the most species-rich rainforest in the world. It is also known as Amazonia or Amazon jungle. Large portion of the forest is contained within Brazil. A portion of which is within Peru and minor amounts is shared by Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, Surinam, Ecuador and French Guiana.
